Bandit is a attractive 3yr old TB colt who is 16.1 hands and a sweet boy! He met an early retirement after a brief and successful career as a racehorse. He has raced just six times with two wins, his maiden win coming at Belmont Park, but returned off in his last race on 12/1. He finished a game 2nd in the race and was purchased or claimed out of the race by a new owner/trainer team. They immediately saw some filling and xrays revealed a fresh, non displaced fracture in his knee. Even though his racing career was over, the new connections decided to do the best thing possible for their new purchase and shipped him to Dr. Spurlocks hospital in WV for the knee to be tended to and a screw put in place to allow max healing and benefit. Due to their prompt attention, this young horse will now have a successful 2nd career. As he has not been in his current barn very long, not too much was known about Bandit other than the fact that he is a true gentleman even when laid up on stall rest. A call to his previous trainer provided us with more information on this neat horse. He is described as easy going and excellent to ride. He is a horse who feels great but always maintains his classy disposition, and not a studdish colt either. Gelding is definitely an option but Bandit will need to recover from this injury 1st. Bandit is by the adorable Lion Heart who we have placed several of his offspring and they have done fabulously! They do tend to be cool characters also!! He is out of an In Excess (Ireland) mare. Bandit has already shown us his class even in a hard situation and a huge heart as he still finished 2nd that day. He is looking for an excellent owner who will see him through the healing process and start him in a new line of work when ready. He is up to date on vaccinations, has a current coggins and all needed medical records. He is currently located at Laurel Park in Laurel, MD. He is available to a nice home only for a suggested donation of $150 to Thoroughbred Placement Resources, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
