COURTESY POST Say hello to handsome DUKE! This 9-year-old, 77-pound boy is pretty much as sweet as they come! He was surrendered to the local animal shelter September 2022 due to divorce. As it goes w/ black dogs, Duke has been overlooked again and again. Duke is super friendly, outgoing, and engaging. He's affectionate and loving... loves attention, pets, and having his ears rubbed. He enjoys long walks and after his initial excitement at being out he is good on leash. He is treat motivated and smart. Knows his sit and shake commands. Would enjoy and benefit from basic obedience training. Duke is silly, playful, and super fun. Lots of pep in his step and behaves more like a 6-year-old dog than a senior. He will make a wonderful, attentive companion or good family dog. Duke is dog friendly. He’s been kenneled w/ both male and female dogs. NO cats. Will chase. *Foster to Adopt* is an option!
