Mason Jar was recently brought to WHS as a stray. Because they have been with us for such a short time, we unfortunately don't know much about them yet! We are hoping an owner will come forward to reclaim- if you believe you know this pet, please reach out to the adoption center at (828) 264-XXXX.Upon intake, Mason Jar was extremely fractious and seems to be unfamiliar with humans. Due to his extreme lack of socialization, Marson Jar will likely be a wonderful candidate for our TNR program! TNR is a humane practice for mitigating feral cat populations. Cats that go through this program are unsocialized with humans, and do not make suitable pets. Once spayed or neutered and appropriately vaccinated, they are either returned to their home territory or are put up for adoption as a barn cat. Because cats that go through this program are generally scared of humans, they receive an ear-tip so that they can be easily recognized as spayed or neutered without having to be handled.If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mason Jar, please reach out to the adoption group directly.
