Argyle is a long-haired tortoise shell (tortie) tabby (just like her sister Checkers) who is about 16 weeks old and looking for that perfect home to love her and bring out the best in her soul. She loves to play with the fishing dangly toy and with her siblings and as is typical, she likes to get on things and knock stuff off and watch it fall down. She has always been the shyest of the 6 kittens born to a stray momma. She likes to hide under furniture if she's unsure of you but when comfortable she is not hiding but hanging around to be a part of the family activity. She recently met two dogs and they are coexisting nicely. She's increasingly venturing around the house, exploring new things. Today she was sitting in our large picture window watching the world go by. She is now enjoying being petted and readily purring. She can be timid around loud noises or strangers at first, but if you break out the wet food, she comes running! Argyle was rescued from the street under a construction dumpster (which was about to be moved) along with her 5 siblings (at about 5 weeks old) and solid black mother cat (about a year old). A group of young actors with fast reflexes from the local dinner theater fished them out from the shrubs and a pipe they were hiding in. Good thing they got them when they did or they might never have been able to catch them. With much love and patience, it has been satisfying to teach the kittens to enjoy being petted since they were so feral at first. The solid black mama cat, Pinochle, and 4 remaining kittens, Sparkles, Checkers, Sneakers and Argyle, are feeling better and are ready to find their new furever home. Currently, it is being recommended to adopt two kittens so they can stay together and play together, which gives them needed exercise and keeps them company. We highly suggest a double kitten adoption with this group so they feel more secure and not stressed in going to a new family. Cats love the company of another cat.
