"I have a girlfriend. She sports a honey colored coat and she's playful and goofy, just like me. Her name is Pocohontas,"" boasts our handsome black and tan friend Georgie. For a first outing after having been with us about a month, Georgie might say he did a good job and we might say he did a great job and made us all smile! Our mid-sized guy was a little tentative exiting his kennel but once out of our front gate, he knew good things were on the horizon and beautifully trotted along towards his fun in the sun time. Georgie is a great mix of snuggly and sniffy! For his first round of pictures, he could not contain himself and trying to position him in our laps, he was so happy with himself that he had a major bout of the wiggles. As you can see online however, he found his calm, inner self and then proceeded to pose beautifully for the camera. But back to his girlfriend.. Poco was his best friend. The two of them nicely ran off leash together and really seemed to enjoy each other. With other dogs, Georgie is calm and polite and says ""hi"" like a gentleman. We're glad we reached for Georgie and hope to get him out again with another mix of dogs to broaden his friend base. Til then, don't be shy! During his much needed break from his outdoor kennel, we got to visit the dog park and he savored the treats from Rambo's and Pee Dee Treasures. Georgie is under 2 years old and he is heartworm NEGATIVE! He's been at Darlington County Humane Society Rescue since March and he would sincerely enjoy a family to hang out with. He is a sweet and charismatic boy with eyes that just plead for love and affection."" Georgie even showed off his smarts by sitting on command.
