Meet Wrangler!Wrangler is a 4.5 year old Chihuahua mix. This sweet boy had an extremely rough start to his life. After being hit by a car twice he found himself dumped at the shelter. That is when Saving Hope stepped in to change his fate!Wrangler was in terrible condition when he went to his foster home. He has a leg that was just dangling and he was unable to use it at all. His teeth were in terrible condition and he was positive for heartworms. After numerous vet appointments and some extra TLC, Wrangler is a whole new dog! He had his leg amputated so he is now the cutest little tripod dog there is! He had a dental done so his teeth no longer hurt him. And the went through HW treatment.Over the past few weeks Wrangler has really started to come out of his shell. He now runs from his crate to the back door extremely excited to go outside. He is very slow to warm up to new people, as he has been failed by humans most of his life. However, he will allow you to pick him up and snuggle him so that tends to help him get more comfortable quickly.Wrangler is very dog friendly, or tolerant I should say. He loves his husky sister in his foster home but can get irritated with his 8 month old Shar Pei foster sister due to her energy. He would do best in a home with a calmer, yet playful dog that can help show him the ropes!He currently resides with a cat in the home and has showed zero interest in her. When he is snuggling up on his foster's lap the cat will often times join the snuggle session!There are two younger boys in his foster home that understand to respect his space but I think he would much rather prefer a home with older children or no children just due to his small size and calmer personality.Wrangler is crated at night but left out in the home during the day as he is non-destructive. He is almost completely potty trained but due to his fear of new people and surroundings he will need a patient family to let him adjust at his own speed in his new home. He uses pee pads great in the meantime!Please consider adopting Wrangler and giving him a home for the holidays where he can snuggle with his person and continue to learn what love is.
