Meet Kaya! This sweet girl has been waiting to find her forever home since mid October. Kaya can be a little sensitive when it comes to meeting strangers, but with a little patience and some yummy treats she warms up quickly! While snacks might be the way to Kaya's heart, her new family will have to be careful not to feed her too many. Kaya was on the heavy side when she first arrived at HSWM and we have been working on helping her lose a couple extra pounds. Kaya loves fetch and seems to enjoy playing with most other dogs so getting in some extra exercise has been easy and fun for her. Kaya's previous owners reported that she is comfortable being left home along during their work days and is potty trained. She did previously live with a cat as well as another dog. Kaya does enjoy the company of other dogs, but appreciates dogs that respect her boundaries. Kaya has also enjoyed spending time with older kids, but young, rowdy, energetic kids can sometimes be too much for her. She may do best in a more mature household.
