Petey is a large, happy, grateful boy who has been given a second chance at the good life. Prior to becoming a HART NM dog, Petey lived his life outdoors in a kennel. Petey is happiest when he is inside with his foster mom watching her cook or work but he definitely enjoys romping and playing with other large dogs. Petey will do best in a home with other large active dogs to play with. Since being with his foster mom, Petey has learned how to sit, lay down, and shake paw on command. He is housetrained and is accostomed to being let in and out several times a day. Petey has been leash trained with a Halti Colar and is most comfortable wearing one on his outtings; he will make a great exercise partner! He is a very affection motivated dog and loves being rubbed down. Petey’s foster mom affectionately calls him “Speedy Petey” because his long legs make him a very fast runner. Due to Petey’s large size, and having never been around young children in his early life, he would do best in a home with older children as he doesn't realize his large size. Since Petey is a tall boy, he requires a 6' fence.
