Ahonui is a 23 year old male Sulcata (African spur thigh) tortoise seeking his forever family. He is a big boy at over 100 pounds. He was named Ahonui by his previous family...the name means Patience in Hawaiian because his sex was unknown for so long while he was a juvenile! Tortoise experience is required with this challenging species. As the 3rd largest tortoise in the world and the largest mainland tortoise in the world, the Sulcata is not for everyone. They need a large yard, proper diet, protection from cold and heat, and safety. If you have the experience, yard space, and lots of patience then adopting a Sulcata could be for you!
