Calla is another one of our Azalea Park bunnies. She was rescued from a neighborhood near downtown Orlando in April of 2022 and soon after her rescue gave birth to two baby bunnies. Sadly, one of the babies did not survive. The other baby was named Jasmine and stuck very close to her mamma, and the two have maintained their close bond. We estimate that Calla was only about six months old when she gave birth, so at this point these two are more like sisters than a mamma and baby duo. They love to snuggle and are never far apart. Calla is a beautiful REW, or red-eyed white. REWs are known for their intelligence and good personalities, and Calla is no exception. Although both bunnies are a bit shy at first in new surroundings, Calla is usually the first to warm up to new people and offer her nose for pets, with Jasmine not far behind. When a comfort level has been achieved, the two bunnies like to snuggle together in V formation in front of the petting human so that both noses can be petted at the same time. Calla and Jasmine both have sweet dispositions, but don't let this fool you, they are also full of energy and need a home where they can get interaction and stimulation so they don't get bored. Remember, both are still young.. Like most bunnies, getting picked up is not on their list of favorite things, but if the need arises they are easy to handle and don’t kick up a fuss. They are both very good eaters and love to explore their surroundings. These two gentle beauties are looking for a loving forever home to call their own. We adopt to indoor homes only! Our Adoption Fee/Donation for a single rabbit is $100, while a pair is $170. This helps to offset the cost of having the rabbits altered, microchipped and vaccinated, as well as any medical care that may have been required.##1385681##Adoption processFor those that want to bond a new rabbit with an existing rabbit, we conduct bonding events where the home rabbit can meet several rabbits to find a potential match. We work with the adopting family to help ensure that the rabbits bond. We take back the adoptive rabbit if there is not a match. Our adoption agreement specifies that we will take any adopted rabbit back, should the home situation change in the future.Shelter locationWe are a foster-based rescue where our available animals are kept in private homes. You can see our rabbits online, then make an appointment to meet the rabbit(s) you select. From time-to-time, we conduct adoption events where you can meet multiple rabbits. Because of RHDV2, these events have been paused.
