Magpie and Pigeon were surrendered to a tiny rural shelter because their owner decided that she had too many dogs. Since their arrival they have made a fast turnaround, picking up leash walking in a day, learning to make new friends with both humans and animals very quickly. As primarily outdoor dogs they seem to love the opportunity to be inside one of our rooms, playing with toys and getting some quality time with staff. They need to be adopted seperately, and we know that they will grow to be wonderful family dogs. Volunteer notes for Magpie: this little girl is a bit shy at first, but once she's out of her kennel, her sweet personality really shines through. She is a dream to leash walk, calmly trotting with her person and sniffing her way down the trails. Magpie is truly transformed away from the shelter environment, and it is so rewarding to see her tail up and wagging! All she needs is time, patience, and love.
