Description:

Hey there. My name is BLONDIE and here's some info about me:Breed: Labrador Retriever mixAge: 4 yrsGender: FemaleWeight: 20 kgHeight: 58 cm If you like a cuddly dog with a penchant for funny antics to keep you laughing, then look my way.Discovered by a group of hikers in a remote area of Lebanon, I was in a state of starvation and had injuries. Despite my determined attempts to reach the main road, an injured leg and extreme dehydration hindered my progress. Lovingly, the hikers took me to the nearest vet clinic. At the veterinary clinic, it was revealed that I had bruised neck marks, indicating I had been tightly chained. Upon further examination (including a scan), it was uncovered that I had a broken hip and leg. Such a terrible situation I had been subjected to, don't you think? The rescuers at the shelter took me into their care, as they were committed to providing me with a better, healthier life I deserve. After careful consideration, the veterinarians determined that the optimal course of action was to perform an amputation. After that, I successfully recovered from the procedure. I now await my forever home, where I can continue my journey towards a brighter future. Both clever and affectionate, you will find me a terrific pal to have around. Despite only having 3 legs, I am still energetic and we can still have lots of fun together. I'm sure I can still do some hiking and ball chasing: https://youtube.com/shorts/CZcYDn339MQ (ok, I'm a ball hoover, what can I say?) https://youtube.com/shorts/zHuNUwQbg20, https://youtube.com/shorts/5lOswUQphKE. I'm polite about toys too and won't fuss with others, even if they take my toy: https://youtube.com/shorts/UJC4MT72ooI?feature=share.I'd love to become a Canadian Puptizen, so hope you will choose me as your favorite buddy. Energy Level: ModerateI get along with:Dogs: YesCats: unknownKids: Yes Fears: None observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: very littleLeash skills: Some. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: No. Please help me learn! Health notes:I am missing my Left rear leg.I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. [TURKEY] *Dogs receive 4D SNAP tests - which include: Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis.##1917011##Adoption processWe offer a foster to adopt program for adopters of overseas dogs. As they will be taking their dog home straight from the airport, they have a couple of weeks to decide if the dog is a fit. In the rare times the dog isn’t found suitable we will find the dog another home.
