This sweet senior girl, Roxanna, was found tied to a tree, late at night, in the pouring rain. She was discovered in the early morning by a resident, as she laid down, trying to stay still, soaked. She was taken to the shelter, where she began to decompress. Upon meeting some interested applicants we discovered she is not happy around men, she can't trust them. We don't know her back story but we know somewhere she was not treated properly. Luckily, Roxanna's luck would change and she was scooped up into a terrific foster home in February 2023. Since being in foster care she has thrived. Her foster mom says, "since being in her home, Roxanna has started to not be so stressed, she eats twice a day, is house-broken, and is loving her long walks getting to see and smell more of her environment. She is happiest on leash exploring. She has even shown to have interest in toys and has become more playful.." She is still not a fan of men, but living as a solo pup, with a woman appears to be just what is best for Roxanna (also Roxanna doesn't like other dogs). While she awaits a forever family, Roxanna enjoys her days in the care of her foster mommy.
