Meet Levi!This feisty fella wants to find a family of his own. Little Levi came to us as a stray, scared and hungry, and was never claimed. Levi is a handsome bluetick coonhound and blue heeler mix, and we estimate his birthday to be 02/12/2023. Levi has the softest coat, and the cutest ears! He loves to play with other dogs of all kinds, but of course we require a meet and greet if you've already got any dogs at home.Levi loves to run around and play, but he has a surprisingly docile attitude when it comes to enjoying a nap in the sunshine. He loves treats, and is very motivated to learn new things all the time. He doesn't mind cats either. One thing Levi absolutely loves is being around kids, playing with them, cuddling with them, and eating treats with them. When Levi came to us, it was clear he had never had any obedience or manners training before. He was what we call 'nippy', meaning when something he didn't like was going on, he would do small bites on his handler to tell them he wasn't happy, instead of a more appropriate response. He was also oddly food aggressive for his age, and wouldn't allow anyone near his bowl when it was lunch time. Our senior staff put a lot of time into working with him, and we are happy to say he no longer displays any food aggression or "nippy"ness with any of our handlers. His adopters will need to understand that he is still young and learning, and will continue to need guidance on acceptable behaviors. Behind the minor behavior adjustments, though, Levi is a wonderful little pup. He loves to snuggle with his friends, and loves to spend time being loved on.You'll never meet a puppy as loyal and sweet. Levi has been to several of our events and has met many friends, but is sad that he has not yet met his forever family. Levi is fully vetted, microchipped, and neutered.
