Stella is a sweet girl, about 2 years old. Stella was rescued from Turks & Caicos where she was dumped, under-weight near a vet's office, most likely by former owners in hopes that she would receive proper care. She found an open door, walked right in and rubbed up against the legs of an astonished resident, let out a big "feed me" meow, and then made herself at home. She got vaccinations and tested FIV+, but she is very healthy. FIV can only be spread to other cats (not to dogs or any other species) - and only through sex (and she's spayed) or through a deep bite wound (which is unlikely). FIV+ cats can live long healthy lives and there is no extra vetting required. The cats that come from Turks tend to be very low shedders and have less allergens than many cats. Stella is a very chatty, social cat. She likes being held and pet, but is also content to just sit nearby (without interacting). She enjoys brief bouts of play, and can often be found scampering after foil balls or carrying a stuffed toy mouse around in her mouth. She likes attention, but does not demand it - and vocalizes to show her appreciation. Stella is very loyal and protective of her care-giver. She is best suited as an only cat. She's not aggressive, but often stands guard when other cats come around. She loves to sit on a windowsill. September 10, 2023, 1:15 pm
