I am a “Desi Dog” (a local term for a native street dog) from India in search of a home of my own. I have an amazing story! I was living a hard life on the streets near New Delhi, India, when I was brought to Kannan Animal Welfare (KAW), a local animal welfare group to be spayed. After I had healed from my spay surgery, the KAW shelter staff drove me back to my original community and let me out of the vehicle. When they began to drive away, I ran after the van, because I did not want to be left behind! As soon as they stopped and opened the door, I jumped back in the van. The KAW staff relented and brought me back to the shelter to live until I could find my own home. Now I am in the U.S. to find a forever home! My foster says I’m the sweetest dog and love being near you and getting pets. But, I’m also perfectly content laying near you taking a nap. I’m a great walking partner, housebroken, and ride calmly in the car in my crate. My days at KAW were filled with a lot of canine companionship so my forever home should have a canine sibling and/or an adopter that's home most of the day.
