Edie, Labrador Retriever For Adoption In Sidney, Nebraska

Location:
Sidney, NE
Description:

“older puppy” still desperately searching for her people or even a long term home Sidney NE areaLabrador Retriever/American Staffordshire Terrier/ mystery fusion Birthday 03/23/2022Dog friendlyCat friendliness unknown, she was good with cats but she hasn’t been around one in her current foster home so a little hard to say for sureKid friendly, as long as the children have DOG MANNERS House trainedNeeds a SLOW FEEDER BOWLShe will crate with treats but she’s just not a huge fan so far. She needs work on house manners but she’s a quickl learner her current foster is just overwhelmed a bit when it comes to training. Does decent on a leash, she is strong and does pull sometimes so some work on that will be neededIs OBSESSED with iceFully vetted 70lbs approx Edie has grown up in rescue she is very loved by us and by her foster family BUT she is so deserving of her FURever home. Every time we thought we had found her ppl it didn’t end up working out for reasons that had nothing to do with Edie. We have no idea why she’s had such little interest but we would REALLY love for her to find her people. Not only is Edie absolutely darling, she has a happy and bubbly personality, she is always the first to meet her fosters at the door. She is always down for an adventure and her nature is very curious. She is one who observes before jumping into interacting with other dogs, she just likes to know what she’s signing up for, I can respect that, I think a lot of us secretly do the same thing with ppl. She really needs her people or a foster home with less dogs and more attention. She can get protective over toys and bones with other dogs but we think part of that will subside in a home with less dogs. She just wants more attention and love than she’s given. She’s crazy eager to please and has so much love to give. She loves belly rubs and and squeezing in the smallest spaces she can. This little weirdo also has an obsession with the water bowl and while she’s never been around bodies of water beyond the bathtub, she would likely LOVE it! This girl is a fantastic partner in crime. She loves people, is doing decent on a leash, but she is strong, it’s just her sincere and deep love of life and everything that every day has to offer! If you’re interested in adding this, ice loving, spot stealing, adventure ready insanely delightful girl PLEASE contact us asap! On March 18 we got a message from one of our absolutely FAVORITE Texas rescue friends and transporters about a super pregnant little staffy mix who was brought into her local rural small animal shelter in Texas. This sweet girls life had been horrible, completely devoid of love or any ounce of human compassion. Meeting this girl it’s hard to imagine that this completely sweet lil lady spent her whole life chained outside a known drug house, neglected, abused, starved. Her entire purpose to her “owners” was being used for puppies that the “owners” would then sell to other miscreants of society for drug money, and unfortunately those “buyers” likely turned around and did the same. Somehow, she escaped that, and ended up at a rural Texas govt shelter. Upon Billie’s arrival at the facility, they called the local HUMANE SOCIETY to take her because she couldn’t have the babies at the shelter. The HUMANE SOCIETY told them to go ahead and just EUTHANIZE HER! This would have been cruel. The shelter just wasn't accepting that decision and reached out to our TX contact. Our Texas contact was completely horrified and reached out to us to see if we would take her because for this to be her end just wasn’t acceptable. 3 days later after she got settled in her fosters home she whelped 8 pups after an emergency c-section as one of the pups was stuck. Unfortunately we did lose the smallest puppy in the next couple weeks, however the rest of the pups thrived. All have found amazing homes except Edie and her sister Austyn. http://www.highplainspaw.org https://www.facebook.com/HighPlainsPAW : https://www.facebook.com/groups/836373273962895/?ref=share https://www.highplainspaw.org/adoption-application https://www.highplainspaw.org/foster-application XXXX@gmail.com (402)957-XXXX . . $.
