A male terrier mix that has an estimate age of 10 to 14 years old. Anthony is a sweet gentle dog with a spunky personality. He loves to cuddle and is the definition of a lapdog. Anthony does well with other dogs and cats (that don’t run from him, he chases the ones that run in play but the cat doesn’t get that)but loves to be the center of attention. Despite his age, he is super playful like a pup. Cute as can be with a waddle in his step. Anthony recently lost his longtime owner, who passed away so we are helping Anthony find his new furever home. Anthony is blind in one eye and has a bald patch on his back from an unknown prior healed injury. He does get inflamed eyes and skin with seasonal changes. An affordable shot from the vet resolves all of the symptoms.So Anthony needs to be considered Special needs due to the medical issues. He is current on vaccines, he is neutered but not micro chipped. Anthony is house trained. Anthony likely needs a senior or older adult as adopter, since he is senior himself and has vision issues.Adoption processThe application process.... After you complete an application, there are several things that we will do: 1. We will check your personal references. Please be sure to list two personal references and include a phone number and an email address. (form asks for one; but I like two)2. If you do not own your place of residence, we will call your landlord or leasing office. Please check with them first to learn about their pet policy.3. We will call your veterinarian for a reference. We are looking for a history of annual exams, vaccines maintained routinely, annual heartworm tests and monthly preventatives. We require the following: * All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. * If your pet is not up to date on vaccines, please do not submit the application until you have scheduled an appointment with the vet to get your pets current on their vaccines. 4. If you are a 1st-time pet owner, please include the name and phone number of the veterinarian you plan to use.5. Be sure to call your Vet(s), giving them permission to speak with us.6. We may need to do a home visit prior to approving your application, or post-adoption. If these policies and practices are not acceptable, please do not apply.Shelter locationWe have Adoption Days on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month at 179 Chris Way in Somerset, Kentucky from 12-4 pm EST, in addition to community-based special adoption events.
