Meet Kayla!A remarkable 1.5 year old pup with an incredible story of survival and resilience. Originally hailing from Fort Worth Animal Care and Control, Kayla found herself in need of a new home after her previous owners brought her in due to "escaping". Little did they know that Kayla had a surprise in store for them - she was pregnant!Faced with an unexpected situation, the shelter reached out to various rescues for assistance, and that's when Kayla's journey took a turn. We took her in, ready to provide the love and support she needed during this challenging time. Sadly, despite our best efforts, the entire litter of puppies fell ill due to a cold that Kayla had contracted in the shelter, and we tragically lost them all.Throughout this heartbreaking ordeal, Kayla displayed remarkable resilience, showing her unwavering spirit and determination. Her energetic nature shone through, as she remained eager to engage with her human companions, never letting her hardships dampen her enthusiasm for life.Kayla's intelligence and quick learning abilities have impressed everyone she encounters. While she may need a bit more practice with leash manners, she is already making great strides and has come a long way since her time at the shelter. As an alpha dog, Kayla possesses natural leadership qualities and a strong sense of confidence.When she's not busy exploring and learning, Kayla has an undeniable soft spot for snuggles. She adores curling up next to her favorite humans, seeking comfort and companionship. Despite her initial struggle with being left alone, Kayla has become quite content with spending time in the house by herself, displaying a growing sense of independence.It's worth noting that Kayla has a dislike for crates. Perhaps she associates them with her challenging past experiences, but rest assured, she has proven to be well-behaved and trustworthy when left alone in the house.
