Paws often uses themes to name our animals, but this one is extra special. We named 7 cats/kittens in memory of our friend and supporter, Ms Cassi Harrison. Our founder, Tia, met Cassi 10 yrs ago while working at Geico. When the dream to start Paws in Middle Georgia was born, Cassi was there offering unwavering support, encouragement, and efforts. She helped navigate the bewildering 501c3 process, a founding Board member, and designed the Paws logo that’s become our trademark. Since Paws launch over 3 years, Cassi touched countless lives of kittens she cared for/fostered and volunteers she worked with and befriended. Cassi's work, love and friendships she gave mean so much, to so many of us. We are honored and excited to introduce GECKO of Cassi’s Crew. May they be a reminder to the Paws family of what an amazing person she was and the special impact she had. Gecko!! Aptly named for the starting location of a beautiful friendship. Her beautifully unique tabbico coloring drew the eye of our Founder and here she is. Gecko came in with Boba and Harrison. Gecko has come a long way since she went to foster. She plays with the other kitties in the home. She lives with cats, big dogs, little dogs, small kids, & adults. She's picked the daughter to be a bedtime snuggle bug with. Gecko needs a home with at least one other outgoing, friendly kitty. Her new person/family may need to be patient with her while she acclimates to her new surroundings. It can take animals 3 weeks to fully understand they are home so they can let down their guard.
