Hi! My name is Joey and me and my brother Jesse are both looking for forever homes. We were taken to a really scary place called an animal shelter 'cause our owners had too many dogs and we were the ones given up. We ended up on something bad called "the list" but then BCAA heard about our situation and said they would help us... yeah! We were really shy when we first came into foster but our foster parents are really nice and we love getting attention from them; we really came alive once we figured out we were safe and love playing with each other. Our foster mom says if you're looking for a running or hiking partner, you can't go wrong with either of us. The best guess of our mix is yellow lab maybe with some Rhodesian Ridgeback 'cause we have the beginnings of a ridge going down both of our backs; whatever we are mixed with, our foster mom says we're both super handsome! We are about 18mos old and I am the bigger of us at almost 50lbs and Jesse weighs just under 50lbs; we are not anticipated to get any bigger. We have gotten along with the other dogs we have met and while we have shown some curiosity about those things called cats, we haven't messed with them. We are not crazy about our crates but we've been good about not having any accidents in them; however, dog beds seem like stuffed toys to us but we leave our blankets alone. We are both pretty good on leash especially once we realize you are one of the good guys! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. March 31, 2024, 11:16 amAdoption processOur adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.Shelter locationWe have weekly adoption events at PetsMart every Saturday from 11:00 am till 2:00 pm at the Eastgate Square Shopping Center, Rt. 38, Moorestown, NJ and PetsMart, 62 Centerton Rd, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054.
