Jake is a wonderfully sweet dog who is good with other dogs and people. He came in as an injured stray and has had 2 rounds of xrays that show a serious prior injury to his hip. He was placed on very high doses of pain medication which helped him to use the leg again, but he still walks with a limp. We are now in the process of reducing the pain medication to the lowest effective dose to manage his pain. An adopter needs to be aware that he has a complicated injury that may or may not require surgery in the future, and veterinary guidance has been inconsistent on what treatment plan is best for Jake and that all treatment post-adoption will be at the expense of the adopter.
