Animal Profile: Artemis is an estimated 3-year-old, 65 lb spayed female German Shepherd Lab mix who was adopted in Summer 2022 as a stray from Quincy Animal Shelter and is now in need of a new home. Artemis is friendly with all people, including kids, and knows basic obedience, including leash walking. She walks well on leash even around distractions (like other dogs) with a training collar; she has been in training to be her best self on walks when seeing dogs and is doing great! She would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and has basic obedience training. Foster Update: Artemis is currently living with a large female dog and doing great with her; they're best buds now, after slow introductions. Artemis is a very good and chill dog, has an excellent foundation of training and is fully muzzle conditioned as well. Adopter Profile: Large breed experience required Secure fenced yard required Balanced dogs OK No cats Kids OK Adoption Info: Artemis's adoption fee is $350, which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Animal History: Artemis was adopted from Quincy Animal Shelter in Fall 2022; she came to the shelter as a stray. She was adopted by a family in the Seattle area and surrendered to DGS in July 2023 after training. She is currently being fostered in Bellingham and is available for adoption.
