From a volunteer: Alice began her day with us at the Archeological Survey as a very shy, scared girl. Her tail was between her legs, and she would not look anyone in the eye. I spent the first 15 minutes with her on the floor and gave her treats. She wouldn't eat them at first, preferring to lay down next to them. I went back to work and within a few minutes she had eaten them. Treats and gentle patience helped me break through her timid shell. The staff would get down to her level and it seemed to assure her. Alice was soon bouncing around in a playful manner with me, wagging her tail and jumping on me.Any time I ask her if she wants to go outside, her face lights up and she bounces around like a puppy. By lunch time, Alice was completely comfortable and adorably rolled around on the floor playing with the hard chew bone with an occasional growl. Alice is lovable and likes to interact with you. She was so well behaved and calm in my office. She slept or rolled around with the toys while I worked. Alice is great on a leash and is easy to walk. I walked her around the inside of the building to complete tasks and she was perfectly happy to go with. Any time I had to leave her in my office alone, Alice stayed by the gate and quietly watched me. She might be housetrained- she always went outside and never in my office. Alice is a sweet dog with a fun, rambunctious, and happy personality waiting to blast out. Primary Color: Brindle Weight: 55 Age: 7yrs 1mths 1wks
