She is a lovely girl guinea pig who's very shy and withdrawn, but she loves gentle pets while she is snuggled in a cozy fleece blanket!HOW TO ADOPT: To meet Saltine, please come to the Seattle Animal Shelter Critter Room when we are open to the public.Seattle Animal Shelter is open to the public for adoptions from 1 - 5 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We are closed on Mondays and Fridays, as well as all City holidays.Pets are complex beings, and we could not possibly share everything about them in a short adoption bio. The primary caregiver must be a responsible adult, and young children should always be supervised when interacting with your guinea pig and instructed on proper approach and handling.Guinea pigs like lots of roaming space. The larger the cage, the more active they can be! Use plenty of lining material like paper bedding, or scraps of fleece. Guinea pigs eat timothy hay. Provide fresh water every day. Guinea pigs also need hay-based pellets that are vitamin C fortified. Fresh green salads are leafy greens.Your guinea pig will need its nails trimmed twice a month and an annual vet check-up. Guinea pigs typically live six to nine years.
