Meet Mella! Bonita Shelter reached out to us about Mella, whose guardian could no longer care for her as a result of dementia. On the date she was scheduled to be euthanized, Mella became a Frosted Face instead! She immediately captured our hearts with her happy, loving personality and big smile. Mella is only 7 years old and loves to go for walks and on hikes. She was very overweight when she first arrived but has since lost 35 lbs.! Mella has great energy and stamina! Mella spent her first three weeks as a Frosted Face in a foster home enjoying extra TLC while we learned more about her. We learned Mella enjoys pets and attention, rides nicely in the car, and knows how to sit and to shake with her paw. Mella had lots of fun attending a Frosted Faces fundraising event, was very friendly when meeting new people, including children, and soaked up all the pets and cuddles! Mella proved to be such a well-behaved girl when home alone that she had free reign of the house while her Foster Mom was away and overnight. Mella was also good about going potty outside and let her Foster Mom know she needed to go out with a little whine. She also did well with the cats in her foster home. Mella's Foster Mom shares, "I hope someone scoops Mella up to join their family soon. She’ll give you all the love you give her and then some. She is a big teddy bear!" Mella went on a two-week Frosted Fling, and she earned rave reviews again! Her Fling Mom shares: "Whoever adopts Mella will get an amazing dog. It’s impossible not to love her, and she deserves all the best of life. Here's what we have learned during the past week: Mella is a mellow girl who has shown adorable signs of wanting to play. With comfort in a new home, she will be so much fun! She does high five, fetches, plays with squeaky toys and gets silly. Mella would enjoy being in an active home with a yard. Don’t let her weight fool you, this girl has energy and loves to go! Mella was well loved in her previous life and it shows. This best girl will make her family so very happy!"
