Meet Doug.Dog is special.For a few different reasons.The most obvious one is the way he moves. Doug gets around using the most adorable bouncy bunny hop. He loses his balance a little when he is jumping around and playing with the other dogs. But he does not let that stop him from having the most fun in the doggie playgroups.Doug is goofy, joyful and incredibly happy to be alive. Every day is good day according to Doug.You see, he doesn't give a darn that life hasn't been fair to him. Nobody would blame him if he became depressed in the shelter and started acting out. Doug's got a few good reasons to be hating life right now.Doug ended up in not one but TWO different shelters.He has a disability that makes him a little different.He is black lab mix that looks like every other black lab mix in shelters all across the country right now.But Doug doesn't care about the negatives. All he knows is today is another day to choose to be happy.We could learn a little something from Doug.Doug has been seen by a vet and it has been determined that he likely has a spinal injury or birth defect that causes his hopping gait. He is in no pain and the vet said "Doug is the happiest dog I have ever met and can be adopted out." "Whoever chooses Doug will be lucky to have him!"So, if you looking for life-loving, bunny hopping lab mix. You really, really need to meet Doug. He puts a smile on the face of everyone he meets.Doug is approx. 2 yrs. old and weighs 50lbs. He is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested and on flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. His Ohio license is also including in his adoption fee. Applications can be found at bchsohio.org or just stop by the shelter to fill out an app and meet Doug. You will be glad you did.
