ABOUT LAILA Looking for a howling hound dog? Laila is the girl for you! She is about 2 years old and loves to use her voice. Laila came to HAP from a high-intake shelter in Louisiana when they no longer had space for her. She quickly warmed up to life in Delaware and has been quite the happy girl. Laila is a talkative lady and is sure to tell you what is on her mind. She gets rather excited for walks, her nose is ready to sniff and explore everything. Laila has done well walking with a harness and is very treat motivated to focus on her handlers. She can be vocal when she sees her doggy friends, but once she's up close she is sweet as can be. She loves stuffed toys and food puzzles to keep her entertained. When she's not exploring or playing, you can usually find her curled up in a little ball on her dog bed. Laila would likely do well in an active household and with children! She has met our feral kitties that weren't super nice to her, and she was very heartbroken to not be fur friends. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
