Meet sweet Sunny Sunny is a 5-6-year-old spayed female beagle hound mix. She originally came from Texas in 2018 as a stray and was immediately adopted in VA by her rescue. However, recently that all changed when Sunny was once again found as a stray in the streets of VA and her family never came to reclaim her so, she found herself back in the shelter without a family of her own. That is when our rescue received a call asking to bring Sunny back into rescue care or risk euthanasia due to a minor nip at the time of pick up from the AC officer because we believed she was scared. Sunny has displayed zero aggression and is an adorable, well-behaved, well manner and sweet girl. She is house-trained and cries at the door when she needs to go out. She'll even do circles in excitement to go for a walk or outdoors in the yard. She walks well on a leash and is dog-friendly, cat friendly, and loves people. She is the perfect dog. For the life of us - we can't imagine why she wasn't reclaimed- as she is a gem. Sunny doesn't play with toys much or fetch a ball, but she does love to hike and go on her walks sniffing all she can along the way. She is happy just lounging around the house and being close to her person or family. She loves car rides and loves to eat - very treat-motivated too. She eats with her rescue buddies with no aggression and holds her own well if another dog approaches her she is unsure. Sunny is microchipped, spayed, up to date on all vaccines, and weighs 40 pounds so she is the perfect apartment, tiny home, or small house size, or even those first-time pet owners. She is an easy dog to care for and love. Sunny is looking for her "true fur-ever home where she is loved and value as a family member and never has to worry about being a stray again.
