We've only known this handsome Labrador Retriever for a couple of days, so we'll add updates as he reveals more of his personality. Doc came from a local shelter where he had been picked up as a stray. Everyone was surprised that nobody came to claim such a handsome, well behaved boy but that was our good luck. The shelter pegged him as approximately 6 years old and he weighs in at 60 pounds, but we'd like to see a little more weight on him. It turns out that Doc is very affectionate with grown ups but we don't have information yet about kids, cats and other dogs because he got a case of kennel cough at the shelter so we've been keeping him pretty quiet until he fully recovers. He seems to know some commands, is house trained, loves his food and his bed and shows promise for being a really great family companion. Microchip information on new owner is then submitted to registry. Rescue always stays as a contact on the microchip registry.Shelter locationAll of our dogs are staying in foster homes throughout our service area in the following counties: Los Angeles and San Diego. Once it is determined that the dog you are looking for is a match, arrangements are made to visit the dog either at the foster's home or at a mutually agreed place.
