Meet Rex! He is a vert energetic catten who wants to play and be petted constantly. When he is excited while playing he tends to wag his bob tail back and forth quickly, almost like a dog wagging its tail. He is also very brave and will be the first to greet people or explore new areas. Rex is extremely loving. If he is not satisfied with the amount of petting he has received, he help himself to more pets by pulling your hand back to him. He likes to explore items with his teeth so he does well when he has many toys he can bite to satisfy that desire. Rex is currently being fostered with four of his littermates and would do best being adopted with one of them, or into a home with another active young cat that he can be friends with. We think that he would do well with respectful kiddos. He has not met a dog. Rex is about 11 months old. He has been neutered, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV/FeLV-. He has also been successfully treated for ringworm. FIP is caused by a commonly contracted feline coronavirus (FeCV), which must mutate within the cat to become FIP. FIP can have a genetic component, making some littermates more susceptible to succumbing to the disease. FIP most commonly occurs in cats younger than 1.5 years of age. Rex is currently healthy, but to be overly cautious we would want to discuss the typical symptoms of FIP and what to watch out for with any interested adopters.
