Adopt Margret a White American Eskimo Dog / Mixed dog in Colorado Springs

Location:
Colorado Springs, CO
Description:

Margret, a wise 9-year-old, 17lb American Eskimo, is a shining example of strength and curiosity, despite her diabetic condition. Her adventurous spirit is evident as she fearlessly explores the yard, immersing herself in the array of captivating scents.Being diabetic has never dimmed her zest for life. Margret's inquisitive nature shines brightly as she approaches each new experience with a heart full of wonder. Although she may not have passed the "consent test" just yet, her progress reflects her willingness to embrace connection and understanding.Margret's happiness is palpable, especially when she's outdoors, her tail waving high in delight. For her security, a 5ft fence is crucial due to her flight risk tendencies. Furthermore, her new home should be devoid of young children, ensuring her sense of safety and comfort. As a diabetic companion, Margret requires specialized care, but her gentle demeanor and loving companionship make it all worth it. While she's not yet leash-trained, her enthusiasm for exploration is an inspiring reminder of her eagerness to learn and grow.If you're ready to provide a caring and secure home for a spirited and resilient soul, Margret is waiting to bring her sense of wonder and joy to your life. Apply at nmdr.org and let Margret's journey to a brighter future begin with you! --------------------------------------------------Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. Because some of our dogs are very under socialized, they may not be a good fit for young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Some of our more fearful dogs will do best in a home with another dog and a securely fenced yard. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
