Albert3, Dachshund For Adoption In Brookfield, Connecticut

Price:
$250
Location:
Brookfield, CT
Description:

Albert Bio Albert is a sweet, full-size dachshund of 12 years and 32 lbs. He has landed with Little Paws after his owner sadly passed away, and is looking for a new family to share his love with. He’s an easygoing guy who’ll mesh well in pretty much any home. Environment Albert is house trained and untested in a crate (he has been fine left to his own devices within a single room.) He would love a home with a fenced yard as he enjoys roaming around, but he does well on a leash too. We haven’t seen a lot of prey drive until it comes to lizards! He will chase them and dig for them, but isn’t;t great at catching them, thankfully. Albert is not a chatty guy so he would coexist well in a home with shared walls, and he is fine to be left alone for a little if his humans work. Pets & People Albert likes making new friends with pups and people alike. He’s even been known to tolerate a cat. He greets new visitors happily but hasn’t met any children. He plays well with other dogs and has only ever been grumpy when asked to share his favorite toys. Albert is currently fed separately from the other dogs in an abundance of caution. Health Albert has just received a positive Cushings test and will need medication once per day for the remainder of his life. Location Albert is available for adoption from Mint Hill, NC. Please email XXXX@yahoo.com with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Albert is $250 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2024, 5:20 pmAdoption process6 Step Adoption Process 1) Application - (While we encourage you to let us know on your application if one of our dogs has captured your interest, we use this simply as a guide for matching and your listing of specific dog in no way implies claim to this particular dog) NOTE: Adoption Applications expire 6 months from the date of receipt. If you have already submitted an Adoption Application and it has been longer than 6 months, you will need to fill out a new Adoption Application. 2) Reference Checks - All references will be checked prior to home visit. We will contact your current vet, if you have one, for a reference. 3) Application Review - Processor reviews the application, calls the vet if you have one, verifies vaccinations and spay/neuter. We email personal references (if email is provided) or call them if necessary. Email is best since as references can respond when they are available. 4) Home Visit - A volunteer will come to your home to visit with you and discuss care of dachshunds. Also, the volunteer will look for any potential problems and check to be sure that your fencing is secure. Your home visit does not mean you have been approved. 5) Approval - After the above steps have been completed all your information will be reviewed and a decision will be made about adoption. If at this point you are approved to adopt, LPDR will help guide you to the appropriate dog for your family. 6) Contract - For the protection of the dogs we place, everyone that adopts a dachshund from LPDR will be required to sign an adoption contract.Shelter locationAre you looking for an opportunity to foster a dachshund? Fostering is our transitional step from a shelter/surrender to a forever home. During this time it’s important that we give each dachshund a safe environment where it can learn to trust again, to heal and to learn how to become a loving family member. Many of the dachshunds that we pull from shelters or receive from an owner surrender just need a temporary home until their new forever home can be found.
