Rabbits will require a specific diet of mostly hay, a smaller number of fresh vegetables like romaine lettuce, Bok choy, cilantro, basil and other leafy greens, a limited number of pellets and access to water. Their enclosure should allow them to stand on their hind legs without hitting their head on the top of the cage, have enough space for a litter box, toys + other enrichment items, and must be made of metal or material that they cannot chew through. Rabbits need regular cleaning of their enclosure, daily monitored time out of their cage and medical care from an exotic vet. It's important that you have an ideal space in your home to allow them the freedom to roam in a rabbit-proofed area, as rabbits are very curious and love to chew! Rabbit-proofing your home includes ensuring any cords, wires, houseplants, and any other potentially harmful items are out of reach from Tomato.Adoption processAdoption Requirements:Must be 18 years of age or older for standard adoptions. Must have valid ID Adoption fees are based on an animal's age and species. Each adoption Includes: 1. Complete veterinary exam 2. Inoculations against rabies and other diseases 3. Heartworm test for dogs /Feline leukemia test for cats 4. Spaying or neutering (it's mandatory) 5. Collar 6. Lifetime ID tag (on The Anti-Cruelty Society's registry)7. Permanent identification microchip 8. Dog leash or cat carrier 9. One month of free pet insurance for this important transitional period.Shelter locationOur adoption center at 510 N.
