I adopted Tequila from Community Cats of Palm Coast as a kitten. She is very sweet with me and loves to play fetch with her little puffy balls. When she was 2 I adopted a male kitten to keep her company while I was at work. They got along fine. Last year I was asked to take in a small female kitten whose owner had passed away. It has been a difficult transition for Tequila and now she has become unhappy with both of the other cats in the home. I have worked with my vet as well as a feline behaviorist and the conclusion is that she wants to be the queen, not a member of a pack. So I think if you can only love one cat, Tequila would love you back. She was fine with my little female dachshund who passed away last year. She is not a fan of small children. But she is sweet, loves to trill and purr and rub up against you. And while I know it is very hard to let her go, I also know that it is definitely the right thing for her.
