Adopt Pumpkin a White American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed Breed (Medium) / Mixed

Pumpkin is a cute cream and white American pitbull mix. She's a year old and weighs 44 pounds. She was brought in to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 3/7 as a stray. You may have noticed her left eye. That's called a cherry eye. It is cosmetic only. She still has good vision in that eye. It can be taken care of by surgery and it's my understanding it's not extremely expensive. It doesn't bother her. She has also had a litter. She is very energetic and had a strong pull on the leash. However, once she got out into the yard, she was relatively calm. She didn't even scamper around the yard. She just casually strolled as she was checking out her environment. She did do her business as soon as she got out into the yard, and had kept her kennel clean. She is friendly, sweet, affectionate, and pretty well mannered. She sat for me two times but then I couldn't get her to do it again. When I sat down she came to me to have her ears scratched and she put her head on my lap. She definitely craves loving and attention. When I walked her past the bay windows she was reactive to some dogs, but not others. We always suggest if you have another dog to ask the shelter for a dog test. Pumpkin would make a great playmate and a loyal, devoted friend! She would also cuddle with you during family time.
