Salamander is a beautiful one-year old female Tortoiseshell kitty who was brought to HSOV on April 20, 2024 along with her three tiny kittens (Frog, Toad and Turtle) by a Good Samaritan who found this little family on Pleasant Ridge Road near Marietta Ohio. Salamander and her kittens were in desperate need of medical attention and received the best care (and medications) from our compassionate HSOV kennel techs. Salamander has recovered nicely. Two of her kittens (Frog and Turtle) are doing fairly well .. Sadly little Toad did not survive and passed away on April 27th in spite of heroic efforts to save him. Salamander has a black/orange/beige short smooth coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with large golden eyes, a black velvet nose, and long black whiskers. This little sweetheart is a real lovebug who wants attention more than anything else in the world. Salamander has been moved to The Jungle Room (one of our adoptable cat rooms) where she is quite the social butterfly. She would not cooperate for quick photos in her cage, so we opted to take a few cell phone pictures 'through the bars' to introduce this vivacious little beauty queen (smile). We look forward to capturing her true beauty and 'out-of-cage' personality in the near future. We've learned that Salamander LOVES her people friends (including children), but that she is not good with other cats. Salamander is a petite girl who weighs approximately 7 lbs. She will be spayed (tentatively on May 28th) and will soon be ready to find a fabulous home either through adoption or rescue.
