I would like a white capped Pionus , I fell in love with one at a local Bird of Paradise parrot store but the Parrot was sold before I made up my mind and came up with the money,, You see it was an older bird that being rehomed due to the owner getting pregnant and then not wanting the parrot near the baby . Now when this shy bird saw me it took an instant liking to me and went stright to me and then what surprized me is it gave off this wonderful musky pionus smell . I am told that this bird had not done this in the 8 years the other owner had had it and it is something Pionus do to attract a mate . I did some research and found that they are relatively quiet birds and are often referred to as perch potatoes . OK I am hooked and I realize that the hint of a bond that was started may not happen again but I would like to give it a shot . I have 6 other parrots , all smaller from Lovebirds to a Conure. I am looking for a female but that is not set in stone . I also would like a tame older bird as they are usually less desired that babies.
