Kirkendahl won first time out in a MSW for two yos @ Hollywood Park for a purse of $37,800 followed by a win in an allowance optional claiming race for a purse of $80,000. He was not entered for a tag. In his second race as a three yo Kirkendahl came in third in the San Vincente Stake GII, @ Santa Anita Park, a prep race for the Kentucky Derby, losing by one length to Fusaichi Rock Star & by a neck to Dont Get Mad. He was a contender for the 2005 Kentucky Derby until an injury sidelined him. Afterwards, he never ran back to his full potential. Kirkendahl is a 3/4 to the filly GAME FACE earner of $799,348 which includes GI, GII, & GIII wins.
