Young Male Eclectus for Sale
1 / 3
Moving and need to find good home for him, parrot lover/experience preferred.
This bird is the sweetest! He just turned 3 years old and I have had him since he was a baby. The breeder hand-fed him from birth, and I got to help with that as well and he truly loves people. His name is Riley because I am Irish and he's green, but I suppose you can change that, but he does know his name and says it. He has been my little good luck charm and buddy through college. Unfortunately I am getting married in a few months and then moving to another country and there is no way I can take him with me... He was an expensive investment and I wish I could keep him. I am selling him for $800 with a large really nice (and expensive) cage, toys, perches/ropes and a large bag of eclectus food (he also loves his veggies and fruits though, and peanuts occasionally for his favorite treat). Riley loves to talk and he talks a lot! He hasn't been exposed to any swearing. Here are some of his vocabulary words: Good Boy, I love you mama, (whistles for dog), (whistles for pretty girl), Hello, kissy noise, Haha (he usually laughs when he hears me laugh, or just when he is in a goofy mood), there you go (when he is hungry). He also does some tricks like flapping his feathers on command, puffing up his feathers, swings upside down, cuddles underneath my chin and lays on his back. He is a very trusting bird, and I hope he can always be like that. He loves to go on walks and isn't too temperamental. He lived with me growing up in my college apartment, but I recently moved back in with my family this past summer. He has been great with my young brother and his neighborhood friends (he takes him out in the summer often to show him off), and just fine with men (loves my dad) and women, though he is probably closest to me since I spend the most time with him. I want to find him a home that will love him, care for him and spend lots of time with this sweetheart! They are also a lot of work and need to be fed daily and have water freshened daily as well. He likes to be in the sun and I thaw out frozen fruit and veggies for him daily. He LOVES peanuts, but they are a rare treat and they aren't too healthy for them so he gets them every now and then. He recently heard a fire alarm go off, and occasionally repeats it, but he has been doing that less lately. He does not and never has plucked his feathers, nor has he toe tapped. He has the most beautiful colors under his wings and is a very curious and smart little guy, though he hasn't ever figured out how to escape his cage! :) Please email me if you are interested and contact about price... I'm not in a huge rush to sell this beautiful bird, but I need to find him a home in the next 3 months.
