Hi friends. My name is Angus, and I am awesome. My volunteer friends describe me as a charmingly goofy, hilariously silly, adoringly affectionate dog with a permanently serious face. It’s my look and I own it! Sometimes my serious face can make people think I’m not happy to see them. That couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, I LOVE people — young, old, short, tall, big, small, and the one’s carrying cheese most of all! My shelter friends are really proud of how far I’ve come. I wasn’t always the outgoing bundle of joy you see before you now. I arrived at AAC last winter all out of sorts. My face was beat up, my personality was shut down, and I had just about given up hope of living a happy life. While my vet staff friends worked hard to mend my face, my ODC volunteer friends worked hard to mend my broken heart. It wasn’t long before I made so many new friends. Today I help train and mentor new volunteers, I’m a staff and volunteer favorite, and I’ve even graduated from an off-campus confidence building class. Not only am I the comeback kid of the year, but I’d also win Mister Personality if superlatives were a thing around here. The only thing missing from my nearly complete life is a family to call my own. My friends think I’d transition nicely into a variety of homes, but here’s my highlight reel: I’m house trained and know a few cues too. I enjoy going on car rides and venturing out into the real world. I’m an easy walking buddy and won’t react to passing pooches. I’ll wear Halloween and winter costumes, but might look grumpy about it. My face always looks serious, but the only thing I take seriously are treats. I love my humans with my whole heart… after all, they helped mend it. Want to chat more about me with one of my humans?!? Of course you do!!! I’ve enlisted the volunteer run advocacy group known as the Orange Dot Crew to help sing my praises. Technically I’m not on their roster, but they’ve known me since I arrived at the shelter and have helped me every step of the way.
