This little boy is Hawkeye. He was born September 4th, 2019 and currently weighs about 3 pounds. As an adult he should weigh less than 20 pounds. His mommy is Maggie a Boston Terrier/Brussels Griffon mix who weighs 16 pounds. Daddy was a traveling man and didnt leave us any information. Hawkeye is bold and the first to come running for attention. He is the puppy most likely to get into trouble by venturing somewhere he isnt supposed to be. Hawkeye is one of a litter of 6 puppies born to mommy Maggie. Maggie was brought in to a high kill southern shelter pregnant on August 31st. She was ready to give birth. The shelter got her out to a temp foster on September 4th and she delivered her puppies one hour later. She was just waiting to get somewhere safe. Because Maggie spent time at the shelter she got kennel cough and was very sick. Her puppies also got the respiratory infection from her. If puppys noses are congested they cant nurse. There was no help for her in Oklahoma so one of our volunteers drove and brought her and her babies back and straight to the vet. Maggie and her pups all got meds and started to thrive. Hawkeye will be neutered Monday, November 11th and will be ready to go to his forever home the 12th or 13th. He will have 2 of the 3 required distemper/parvo boosters and is microchipped. His adopters will be responsible for his 3rd distemper/parvo booster at 14 weeks and his rabies vaccination at 16 weeks. Hawkeye is doing well at his housetraining but is still a baby. His forever home needs to have the ability to get him out to potty every 4 hours throughout the day untilhe is older.
