Lucy's journey started when her momma Cookie bravely escaped a devastating business fire in March of 2022. She was living on her own for almost a YEAR AND A HALF before she was finally caught by the amazing community who ensured her safety. Named Cookie after the antique store "The Cookie Jar" that burned down- she became a momma to Lucy & her brother Brownie who are now eagerly awaiting their chance to find loving families of their own. Currently fostered in Texas, Lucy will soon be eligible for transport to the Pacific Northwest or New England area by mid-November. Lucy's endearing personality and adorable looks make her the perfect addition to any family. With her soulful eyes and playful spirit, she is sure to bring joy and companionship to her new home. As a mixed breed, Lucy offers a unique combination of traits that can make her an incredibly versatile and loyal companion. Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you! The adoption fee is $750.00 and includes all vetting as recommended by our doctor: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations.
