Ash is an exceptional companion. He's loving, well-behaved, curious, and very capable and quick at learning what your boundaries are. He wants to please you, and tries very hard to remember his manners. He loves to do zoomies in the yard, play with balls (the bigger the better), chew on his bones, gaze out the window, and take naps. He loves play time with you, but will also keep himself entertained when you can't. Questions that make his tail wag out of control are, "Do you want to go for a walk?" and "Do you want to go for a ride?" Although he's lost an eye, it doesn't affect his quality of life. He does most everything a pup with two eyes can do. His limitations are catching balls that are thrown to him, and sometimes runs into things when he turns right. He's a happy boy, and his beautiful, honey-colored left eye is what you'll be drawn to. Ash is fine as an only dog, as long as you have the time to meet the demands of his border collie energy. He needs regular walks, and time to run around in the yard. He is most active in the evening (when the weather is cooler). He adores playing and being with other dogs and would thrive with a dog buddy. He's not in a foster home with cats, so it's unknown how he gets along with them. Ash would do best in a home without small children. He does not know his own strength and could accidentally knock them over. He's very friendly with older children who respect his personal space and boundaries. Once he feels safe, he'll approach them for petting and belly -scratches. Ash is potty-trained, and walks fairly well on a leash (a little tugging, but continues to improve). He sleeps very well at night as long as he has gotten enough exercise. He isn't fond of his crate, but will go in if left with a treat and with a little encouragement. He has improved on his recall, but it still needs improvement. Whoever opens their heart and home to precious Ash can look forward to laughter, unconditional love, and joy
