Meet Heath, who just turned 1 on October 23rd!! He is house-trained, trained not to jump up on people, knows basic commands such as "sit" and "down", and is 24 lbs of full grown LOVE!!! He is mostly black on his body, with white and tan mixed in. He is a gentle, wonderful soul. He is a little scared of small kids, but just stays out of their reach. Poor Heath had a home, and doesn't understand why his family had to give him up. He thought he was a "HERO" for ridding the area of evil chickens, but apparently his family wanted them on the farm! :(. Now, Heath is waiting for his "chicken-free" FUREVER Home!!At Wags to Riches Rescue & REhab, we are completely transparent with every procedure/$$ we spend. We are 100% non-profit and actually lose money on every dog. Regardless of how much we spend, you never pay more than $200/dog. (we make up the rest in fundraisers if possible). For that price, you are getting a 100% vetted dog, all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, started on heart-worm/flea/tic meds, and health certificate PLUS any other procedures we do. Because we are small, we do have to hire a transport company to get the dog from Alabama to Maryland. This is usually ~$120-$150 (depending on the company) and that is paid directly to them from the adopter. (and a separate cost from adoption). If you would prefer to get the dog yourself, that is perfectly fine! Based on the application, we also sometimes allow folks to foster with the option of adopting.
