Say hello to Beastie Boy, born approx 12/15/2020 and a Domestic Shorthair. He is one of the sweetest cats I’ve ever met, especially despite his rough background. He was found on the streets in Kansas and was on a list to be euthanized at a shelter there. Someone at the shelter reached out to Muddy Paws and said there was something really special about this cat, and Muddy Paws stepped in. He is VERY timid and takes a while to trust you. He needs a very patient home. He loves to play with his toys, especially the wand toys. He is fully litter-box trained. He is not a fan of loud noises or quick movements, but who is? Once he trusts you, he will demand you to pet him. He loves ear scratches and back scratches. He loves cat gogurt, and giving him this treat is a quick way to gain his love. Beastie Boy is FIV+ (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Cats diagnosed with FIV will be life-long carriers, but the healthier your cat is, the longer it can remain asymptomatic. Cats diagnosed as FIV+ can lead happy, normal lives for many years. The suggested adoption donation for Beastie Boy is $65. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2021 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $307,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE , which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs.
