Want to meet Oreo in person? He will be at the Holland Doubletree from 2 to 5 pm on Saturday. Hopefully, we can convince him to wear a Halloween costume for the event too!Oreo is in mourning. He sits and watches the door, waiting for his beloved owner to come home. His owner was retired and able to spend much of her day with Oreo - being cuddled, loved, and held is all he desires in life, so he was so, so happy. Then, his owner had an unexpected medical incident that left her in a coma. Oreo's life changed once again. Tyson's Place Animal Rescue's mission is to assist terminally ill people with finding new families for their pets. Oreo came to us two years ago after his owner was dying of cancer. He was adopted out and spent two glorious years with the adopter who spoiled him and loved him. Even in her coma, her family told her about how Oreo was being cared for because they knew that would be her number one worry. Now, Oreo is waiting for an owner who isn't coming home. If he hears the back door open, he comes running just in case she will be there.Oreo is a loyal, 10 year old really unique looking chihuahua mix that actually is covered in spots like a Dalmatian. He is housetrained and walks well on a leash, though he doesn't require much in terms of activity. He gets along well with other dogs and cats (mostly ignores them, as people are his biggest interest). Like any little dog, he thinks he guards the house and will bark at people coming in but warms up well with some affection. You will notice in the photo that his tongue sticks out - he has no teeth so it is hard to keep his tongue in his mouth. He is a spunky, loving guy who deserves to have a home where he will be the center of attention once again. Are you retired? Maybe you work from home? He would be the perfect match and lifelong companion for you. Oreo deserves a chance to fill his heart with love once again.We are searching for another family that is home
