Derby is fiver years old and she is crazy happy to play with her toys and is fiercely loyal to her humans. She was first adopted from Stray Haven when she was four months old and was an onl dog for her entire life before then. Her parents were heartstricken to let her go, but had to because her mom was having health complications which made continuing to care for Derby impossible. Derby is potty trained and a good and loving house pet. Fully house and crate trained. Goes into her crate with no fuss. Knows sit, down and shake. Calm in the house. Happy to go for walks if you want to take her. Loves carrying her bone around and making little Wookiee noises at you. Does good with cats and well with other dogs but is an alpha female. Food motivated. Unfortunately Derby had knee surgery early in life and it didn't heal very well. Her back end is atrophed and visibly under developed to the eye, it doesn't slow her down in the play department, but things like jumping and doing stairs are difficult for her. We joke that she is 5 years old and going on 105 years old....These pups were dumped in Albany Kentucky and picked up by the local animal control. After no interest from local adopters, our independent pulled them before they were due to be euthanized...If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting this baby, please fill out an application. They currently are fixed, up to date on shots, wormings, preventatives and are microchipped (with lifetime registration).
