San Diego, CA
Description:

Pellets: 1/8 cup Oxbow Essentials Adult Rabbit Food (AM) Hay: Unlimited mixed hay (All day) Salad: 1 cup spring mix, parsley, cilantro, romaine lettuce (PM) Anastasia was transferred to us from the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility. Anastasia came in to the shelter as a stray and a few days later she gave birth to a litter of 5 kids - one of which being SDHRS alumni Ken! She's a big beautiful girl with long black lashes and gorgeous light gray eyes. Anastasia has great litter box habits at the shelter and while she is quiet and keeps to herself here, when give a large space to roam and explore, she is active, curious, and adventurous! Medical History: Anastasia had mild points and was on a pellet diet to increase hay consumption. Her teeth have since improved and have very minor points. Pellets have been re-introduced into her diet. Spayed 8/18/22 Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) is a highly contagious and deadly disease caused by a calicivirus that affects both wild and domestic rabbits. It is not contagious to people or other animals. For the first time, the virus is causing deaths in rabbits and hares native to North America and is spreading rapidly. UPDATE: In May 2021, California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has confirmed new cases of RHDV in rabbits in Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura County. In addition to detection of RHDV2 in wild cottontail rabbits and jackrabbits, RHDV2 has been confirmed in domestic rabbits on 50 premises, including a detection in a feral domestic rabbit.
