Karl is 4 years old and came to us under sad circumstances. He was brought into a local vet for euthanasia by his owner due to his diagnosis of stomatitis. His owner was not able to afford to treat him. The vet called us and asked if we could help with the care and try to find him a home. When he came into us he was in severe pain. We did a dental on him and currently he has 4 teeth left. He is still healing but doing very well. He is a super sweet cat and we know there is a home for him out there. Currently he eats pate 3 times a day until he heals. At this point we are not sure if and when he will be able to eat dry food. Stomatitis is a condition that affects a cat's mouth, causing severe inflammation of the gums and other oral tissues. This can lead to painful ulcers and difficulty eating, and it requires ongoing management and care to keep the condition under control. Adopting a cat with stomatitis requires a commitment to ongoing veterinary care. However, with patience and understanding, you can provide a loving home for a cat with this condition and give them the care they need to thrive.Karl prefers to be the only cat in an adult home. He is OK with cat friendly dogs as he did live with them in his previous home.
